"Crossroads is a caring community of believers, living in authentic relationships,
impacting the Bronx and beyond with the Gospel message through Christ likeness."
More than anything else, Jesus came announcing the Kingdom of God. It is God with us. It's the news that God has pitched His tent among us and it's such joyful news that it came to be called the Good News. The Apostle John summarizes the Good News in the opening chapter of his gospel account. It is capable of turning our lives upside down with its significance, enough to make us rejoice. So even if you never get to Crossroads Tabernacle, get to this announcement:
"In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it....
He came into the very world he created,
but the world didn’t recognize him.
He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.
But to all who believed him and accepted him,
he gave the right to become children of God.
They are reborn not with a physical birth
resulting from human passion or plan,
but a birth that comes from God.
So the Word became human
and made his home among us.
He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.
And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son." -John 1 [NLT]
If you feel a need to respond to what you've just read, then look at these verses:
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." [1 John 1:9]
"WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." [Romans 10:13]
Lastly, look at these words of assurance:
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;" [Romans 10:9]
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." [John 5:24]
